Lanarkshire is asking residents to recognise this week is ‘Baby Loss Awareness Week’.
From 9th until 15th October, pink, blue and white ribbons can be placed outside the council’s HQ in Almada Street, Hamilton by anybody who has suffered the trauma of baby loss. It’s a poignant way to honour and remember those who never got to live their life.
Baby Loss Awareness Week is now in its 23rd year and was established to create a way for those in the baby loss community to collectively remember much-loved and missed babies.
Blue, pink and white ribbons will be left in a bag at the railings outside council HQ, along with a pen to enable a short message to be written on the ribbon.
For those unable to hang a ribbon in person, virtual ribbons can be placed online.
