Councillors at a Planning Committee meeting this week, gave their go-ahead for 64 new homes to be built off Meikle Earnock Road, Hamilton.
The development is a private one by Miller Homes and forms part of the Hamilton Community Growth Area which was included in the South Lanarkshire Local Plan 2007.
The houses are to be terraced, semi detached and detached ranging from between 3 to 5 bedrooms with a new entrance off Meikle Earnock Road.
