A sharp drop in temperatures is on the way for Scotland next week, with forecasters warning of frosty nights, icy mornings and even the chance of snow flurries reaching as far south as Central Scotland. Daytime highs are expected to sit close to freezing, while overnight lows could fall to around -4°C, creating tricky conditions for early commuters.
Light snow showers are possible mid-week as colder air sweeps in from the north, and clear skies at night will increase the risk of widespread frost and ice. Roads, pavements and untreated surfaces are expected to be particularly slippery in the mornings.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time for de-icing, and anyone heading out should wrap up well as the coldest spell of the season moves in.
Are you ready for the big chill next week?
