A young Bellshill woman was amongst 5 people who sadly died in a horror crash in Dundalk in County Louth.
21 year old Chloe Hipson was one of 5 people named by police who lost their lives on Saturday evening.
They have been named as: Chloe McGee, 23, from Carrickmacross, County Monaghan; Alan McCluskey, 23, from Drumconrath, County Meath; Dillon Commins, 23, from Drumconrath, County Meath; Shay Duffy, 21, Carrickmacross, County Monaghan; Chloe Hipson, 21, from Lanarkshire, Scotland.
It is understood that the young people who died may have been travelling to a location to socialise when the crash occurred.
Irish President Catherine Connolly said she is “deeply saddened and shocked by the loss of five precious young lives in Louth last night”. She added: “I am thinking of them, their families and of those injured.
Our thoughts are with all of the families at this difficult time.
