The demolition of Centre West in East Kilbride is now a certainty as ownership transfers to the council at the end of the month.
From 30th December, South Lanarkshire Council will own the development site and be able to progress with demolition plans, to make way for 250-300 new homes. A quarter of these will be reserved for social housing.
A new civic square is also to be created, as shown in this artists impression.
