Six Abandoned Kittens Saved in Blantyre: A Call for Information

Six tiny kittens infested with fleas were discovered abandoned at the roadside in Blantyre.

A passer-by spotted the young cats, believed to be about six weeks old, crammed inside a pet carrier left on Auchinraith Road on Monday morning.

With no way of knowing how long they had been abandoned, exposed to the cold or left without food, the kittens were rushed to a local veterinary practice for immediate care.

They have since been transferred into the care of the Scottish SPCA, where they are now receiving treatment and support.

A Scottish SPCA inspector said: “This is a very concerning case and we are keen to establish what happened.

“If anyone was in the area of Victoria Street, Blantyre and Craig Street on Auchinraith Road on Sunday night or Monday morning and saw anything suspicious or has any information at all that could help, we urge them to contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
