Screen legend, French actress Brigitte Bardot has sadly died, aged 91 her family confirms.
Born in 1934 in Paris, Brigitte was also a singer, model and animal rights activist. She was known for her strong personality, outspokenness, and speeches on animal defense. Though she withdrew from entertainment in the 1970s, she remained a pop culture icon, appearing nude in Playboy magazine for her 40th birthday.
She was married four times and had a son, Nicholas, whom she had a troubled and turbulent relationship with. She maintained she did not use phones or computers. With an estimate wealth of around $65m, her legacy to the fashion, pop culture and film industry is immense.
