This week, we’re looking at some things which are changing in 2026.
Soap fans may be interested to know that the regular scheduling of popular soaps ‘Coronation Street’ and ‘Emmerdale’ are permanently changing from this week.
Emmerdale currently airs at 7.30pm every weeknight, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. While Corrie has three hour-long episodes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
However, this will now change.
A new soap ‘power hour’ has been created every night of the week, with new time of 8.00pm for Emmerdale and 8.30pm for Coronation Street, on all the 5 week nights, with each soap now only having half hour episodes. It’s actually a slight reduction in content and airtime due to cuts.
The new scheduling commences after an hour long explosive crossover episode of both soaps, this Monday evening 5th January.
