Did anybody see (or hear) the Royal Navy helicopter flying over Lanarkshire this afternoon?
A military “Merlin’ helicopter was flying low over several Lanarkshire towns around 3pm today, Friday 9th January 2025. Unusually, the landing gear was down and doors open, with some residents saying the occupants were low enough to be seen waving.
Merlin helicopters, which fly up to 200mph can sometimes be seen over populated areas on training exercises, though the exact reason for today’s visit remains unknown to us!
