Blantyre Leisure Centre reopened its doors this morning with a brand new reception area, updated library hub, upgraded gym and swimming pool changing village.
The library hub, opened in September last year, offers a bright, welcoming space to borrow books, browse new titles and enjoy reading in the heart of the local community.
The gym has undergone transformational works including brand new cardio and resistance equipment, as well as an improved free weights area, and some exciting new equipment additions.
The spin studio is operational with new bikes to be delivered for classes soon.
The changing village has an improved air handling system and all new cubicles and lockers. Please be advised the newly installed lockers now require a padlock, customers can bring their own or one can be purchased at reception.
The next stage of the refurb will include the games hall, male dry side changing and adjoining corridor.
Fitness classes are continuing at the Jock Stein Centre on a reduced programme and will return to Blantyre in February.
Racquet sports will also be temporarily unavailable and changing facilities/toilets will be located within the pool changing village.
SLLC said, “We look forward to welcoming all our customers back to Blantyre Leisure Centre!”
