Excitement is building at Blantyre’s Calderside Academy, as pupils get ready for this Summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Third year pupils welcomed sponsors from Scottish Disability Sport and Glasgow 2026 taking part in an athletics session.
Patrick Murphy, communities and education manager at South Lanarkshire Leisure, said: “Many people see the Games as a moment in time during the summer, but our focus is on engaging with marginalised communities and local groups well beyond that window.”
“It’s about helping people understand what the Games are, how they can get involved and how they can truly go all In in a way that is meaningful to them.”
