Todays Topic: Cost of TV Licence

The cost of a TV licence will rise again by £5.50 to £180 from 1st April, the government has confirmed.

The licence fee funds BBC programmes and services and is set to increase in line with inflation each year until 2027, under an agreement reached in 2022 and had already been increased by more than £15 in the last 2 years.

At present, a TV licence costs £174.50. This followed a £5 increase last year and a larger £10.50 rise in 2024.
