A few people have been asking if there’s any udpate on the new NISA supermarket coming to the former West End Bar building on Glasgow Road, Blantyre.
We’ve now obtained an update and can advise that construction renovation work is expected to start at the end of this month. Work had been somewhat delayed due to other NISA projects and updates from their Architects, but is now scheduled to restart.
NISA Local have already undertaken work on the new car park at the rear for their new supermarket. Accessed from Bardykes Road, the new carpark saw the demolition of the existing, redundant beer garden. The carpark will also include a direct entrance from the car park straight into the shop, saving people from walking around.
We know many people have been wondering about the parking arrangements, so we’re pleased to share that there will be a sizeable carpark with 16 dedicated parking bays for customers — making it safer and more convenient to visit reducing the need for cars parking anywhere else.
