We’ve got several reports of attempted breakins last night in Blantyre.
Multiple separate messages and comments suggest there were several attempts to enter homes in the Stonefield and Burnbrae areas in the early hours of last night. Some suggest this was between 11pm and 1am, with door handles tried.
One report suggested there were 3 individuals, all fairly young though this is unconfirmed. Another suggested they were trying to enter vehicles as well as homes. Anybody who experiences attempted break ins or if you happen to have CCTV footage, should in the first instance immediately report it to police.
For assurance, this area of Blantyre is well populated. Neighbours looking out for each other. It’s been a long time since we’ve heard of house breakins, a rare event. These lowlifes will eventually be caught.
Meantime, it’s a reminder for residents to keep their windows and doors locked, and a timely reminder to check how secure your garages, sheds and outbuildings really are. Other nearby towns may want to be extra vigilant in case they move on.
Have your say. Did YOU see anything last night relating to this?
