Six Planets on Show

Skywatchers could be in for a stunning spectacle this weekend—if skies stay clear—as a rare alignment brings six planets into view at once.

Just after sunset, these worlds will cluster in the same stretch of sky, forming what astronomers often refer to as a “planetary parade.”

Four of them—Mercury, Venus, Saturn and Jupiter—should be visible without any equipment, while spotting Uranus and Neptune will likely require binoculars or a telescope.

Across the UK, Sunday evening offers the strongest viewing opportunity. For the clearest sight, find an open spot with an unobstructed view toward the western horizon. This is especially important for catching Mercury and Venus, which will sit low and could easily be hidden by buildings or trees.
