A burst water main on Hamilton Road, is causing disruption for drivers and local residents.
The A724 road as you leave Blantyre heading towards Halfway has TWO sets of traffic lights, with queues forming, whilst contractors attend to both roadworks and now repairs of a burst water main.
The burst which happened yesterday has been prioritised by Scottish Water. As of this morning, Sunday 1st March, it has left nearby residents without water.
A spokesperson for Scottish Water told us, “Our teams are working hard to complete the repair as quickly and as safely as possible, with an estimated completion time of 08:00hrs (around time of posting this). Once the repair is complete, water service will be gradually restored to affected customers. Please be aware that it may take some time for water pressure to return to normal levels.
We understand the inconvenience this causes and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to resolve the issue.”
