Here’s a nice story. Local Blantyre resident Ann Lowe turned 80 years young yesterday!
A day worth celebrating, we’re sure you’ll agree. However, it’s not just the celebration we wanted to post about, but we also heard Ann did something remarkable on her big day.
Ann selflessly donated her birthday money to charity. She had a small gathering for family and friends in Carrigans and asked that no one bring gifts and instead guests could donate to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. This was because a member of their extended family’s young child, Eilidh, had recently undergone treatment for cancer.
Ann raised a whopping £370 but has rounded this up to £400 and donated in Eilidh’s name.
What a wonderful gesture. The family kindly shared some happy photos of Ann’s birthday and she’s pictured along with her 5 great nieces. We hope you had a wonderful birthday Ann. You look radiant in these photos.
