Public Consultation for new housing in Blantyre

Don’t forget a public consultation is taking place next week for the proposed brand new housing at Craighead, Blantyre. Developers are seeking public comments for a new residential development at the former Craighead Estate site, between the A725 East Kilbride Expressway and the River Clyde, Blantyre.

The new residential estate would partially be terraced on the Blantyre Braes, overlooking the River Clyde and across to homes on the Bothwell side of the river.

An artists impression of similar housing is shown, the image taken from flyers going out this week all over Blantyre.

The public consultation event will take place on Wednesday 22nd April 2026 between 2.00pm and 6.00pm at Blantyre Miners Welfare Club, Calder St, Blantyre G72 0AU. A further consultation meeting will be held at a later date to be confirmed.

During this event, members of the project team will be available to respond to any questions and receive feedback on the proposals.

Further information is available from Block Architects, International House, 3 Stanley Boulevard, Hamilton Internation Business Park, Blantyre G72 0BN or by telephone 01698 652630, or by emailing admin@blockarchitects.co.uk.
