Its with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Blantyre man, Nigel Gill. He was only 55.
His heartbroken family would like to announce the passing of their brother and much loved uncle on Monday 13th April at Nightingale MacMillan Hospice, Royal Derby Hospital, Derby.
[Sidenote: Speaking as admin of this page, I remember Nigel well from our days at Blantyre High School during the 1980’s. He was a gentle, kind person with a good sense of humour, great qualities which I’m sure would have served him well throughout his life. Saddened to read this news. Paul]
Funeral arrangements are on Thursday, 14th May at 1.00pm South Lanarkshire Crematorium, Sydes Brae, High Blantyre thereafter to The Parkville on Glasgow Road, Blantyre. All family and friends are invited. Family flowers only. MacMillan Charity boxes will be at Crematorium and the Parkville.
Our thoughts are with Nigel’s family and friends at this difficult time.

My grandson and I met Nigel Gill about 18 years ago on a trip to Las Vegas and we have been pen pals ever since. He was so very kind and very funny. He had my grandson and I laughing at every opportunity. We only spent 10 days with him on that trip and I wish it could have been so much longer. We spent every day together on that trip. He told me about his illness and I was so hoping for him to be well again. Although we were just pen pals I will miss him beyond words. There was no one like Nigel and he will be in my heart forever because of who he was and because of the special impact he made on my life. I will miss him so much.💔 My name is Linda Brown and my email is horsemicky@gmail.com. I would love to hear from you as I would like to send you a picture of Nigel and I from that trip.
