Campervan falls off slipway

In the news today. Lifeboat volunteers were dispatched after a campervan plunged off a slipway and into the sea near the Isle of Skye.

The Kyle of Lochalsh Lifeboat crew were called to Kylerhea at around 11.40am on Wednesday, reaching the scene within ten minutes. On arrival, they found the vehicle overturned in the water and quickly carried out checks to make sure nobody was trapped or injured.

Thankfully, the campervan’s occupant and their three dogs escaped unharmed, allowing the lifeboat crew to stand down and return to base in Kyle.
