Local Residents Report Bee Swarms in High Blantyre—Join the Discussion!

We’ve been absolutely swamped… or should that be swarmed… with messages today about loads of bees appearing across High Blantyre! 😲

Residents have reported large swarms gathering around cars, buildings and gardens, seemingly making the most of one of the warmest days of the year. Warm, sunny weather is exactly when honey bee swarms are most commonly seen, particularly from late spring into summer, as colonies naturally split and go searching for a new home.

It can look dramatic — thousands of bees in a noisy cloud — but in many cases, swarming bees are simply relocating and will often settle elsewhere after a short time.

📍 Have you spotted bees in your street today?
📍 Did they gather on your car, house, fence or nearby trees?
