14 years ago local woman Karen Denholm took a leap & launched her first community fitness classes at the Blantyre Miners Welfare.
Karen commented, “I had no idea what was about to happen. What followed were sold-out classes, waiting lists, bootcamps, charity events, nights out, a demo on stage at the Blantyre Christmas lights switch-on… as well as, too many to mention, dance floor warm-ups 💃🏻🕺🏻🪩
There were army-themed bootcamps where my amazing members turned up in homemade ‘Private’ T-shirts while I proudly wore my glitter pen masterpiece… SGT KD.FIT! 🤣
We raised money for charity. We sweated… a lot 🥵 We shared countless oranges at the end of class 🍊 & somehow, the chats in the car park became just as important as the workout itself 🥰
Looking back, it was never really about burpees or mountain climbers. It was about people.
Watching confidence grow, seeing friendships form & celebrating every little win together. To everyone who was part of KDfit & my Metafit journey… thank YOU ♥️ You trusted me, believed in me, & helped create memories I’ll treasure forever.
Life really is a collection of moments & these… these were pretty magical.”
