Get ready, Blantyre! The fabulous Blantyre Community Events group is bringing back the town’s festive event this Winter! ….and the date is confirmed!
Blantyre’s Christmas Lights Switch On returns on Saturday, 14th November 2026 and it’s going to be brighter and more festive than ever! 
Join everybody outside Blantyre Leisure Centre at the Christmas tree as the Community group lights up the town and kicks off the festive season in style.
This year you can look forward to:
An Indoor Christmas Market (no worrying about the weather on our watch!)
Sensory Room
Live Stage Performances
Festive food, fun, community spirit and more!
Organisers told us, “We’ll soon be on the lookout for market stall holders and hot food vendors, so keep watching this space

“And as always, we need our amazing community heroes. If you’d like to volunteer and help make this a magical event for Blantyre, we’d love to hear from you.

Or better still, why not come along to the next meeting on Wednesday 8th July (6.30pm at BSA Hub , Rowan Place, Blantyre) and volunteer. This new group is in much need for local people who are willing to give up and hour or two each month to make these events possible.
