Officers are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising in Blantyre.
Around 11.40pm on Sunday, 2 August, 2026, police received a report a car was on fire in Ivy Place. Emergency services attended and the fire was put out.
No-one was injured in the incident.
Detectives are checking relevant CCTV footage from in and around the area.
Enquiries carried out so far have established that two men, pushing a bicycle, were seen in the vicinity at the time of the incident. The males were dressed in black clothing and wearing face coverings.
Detective Constable Stuart Adams said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the fire to think back and consider if they noticed anything suspicious or unusual. I would also appeal to any motorists with dash-cam to check their footage for any images which could assist our investigation. Any small piece of information could prove relevant.”
