The summer holidays are officially coming to an end for thousands of children and young people across South Lanarkshire, with pupils returning to their classrooms tomorrow, Thursday 13th August.
For some, it’ll simply be a case of catching up with friends and settling back into familiar routines. For others, tomorrow marks a huge new chapter — starting Primary 1, moving up to secondary school, meeting new teachers or perhaps even attending a brand-new school.
There will no doubt be plenty of freshly polished shoes, new uniforms, packed school bags and a few nervous butterflies at the school gates tomorrow morning! ❤️
We’d like to wish every pupil across South Lanarkshire the very best of luck as the new 2026/27 school year begins.
A special good luck to all the little ones starting Primary 1 and those making the big move into S1. We hope you settle in quickly, make lots of new friends and enjoy the exciting year ahead.
And, of course, best wishes to all the teachers, classroom assistants, nursery staff, support workers, catering teams, cleaners and everyone else working behind the scenes to get our schools ready.
