Saturday Morning Calm before Storm Boelo

All was still this morning across Lanarkshire as Saturday started off with an incredible stunning pink sky. This was the scene at 7.45am in High Blantyre.

Not a puff of wind across the County and clear skies, not one leave rustling at all. So it was hard to believe that there’s a storm coming! But it is coming!

Storm Boelo is due to hit our shores this afternoon, bringing in very quickly significant winds and rain. Wind speeds are expected to strengthen quickly just before lunchtime today, Saturday 24th October getting stronger as the day and evening progresses.

Tomorrow (Sunday), just as bad with exceptionally strong gale force winds and rain throughout the morning and afternoon. There’s a high probability of damage to fences and trees with localised flooding.

Definitely a weekend to be in, and with Saturday morning your brief opportunity to batten down the hatches!
