A gang, including Lauren Neary and Robert Faulds, was sentenced for a brutal attack on an off-duty police officer in Blantyre. Neary received six years and Faulds eight years in prison. The officer suffered severe injuries requiring surgery, leaving him permanently disfigured and unable to return to frontline policing.
