Spot the Blantyre Christmas Light Still Shining!

South Lanarkshire Council is reminded about an overlooked Christmas light still shining on Glasgow Road, near Stonefield Road. The light depicts Santa and was spotted even after the official take-down last week, bringing some mid-January cheer to Blantyre.

Rutherglen Lights Switch on

On Saturday, 22nd November, a festive event filled with free entertainment, games, and giveaways will take place, celebrating Santa’s arrival. Highlights include performances by The MacDonald Brothers, the KC Community Choir, local acts, and the ceremonial light switch-on by Depute Provost Bert Thomson and guests at 4:30 PM.

Blantyre Christmas Lights Switch On

Blantyre will switch on its Christmas lights this weekend, with Main Street’s festivities on Saturday, November 15th at 7pm, followed by Glasgow Road’s on Sunday, November 16th at the same time. The events are organized quietly by the council, lacking local volunteer involvement. More updates on festive events to come.
