Joyce Flannigan, an 85-year-old local resident of Blantyre for over 67 years, has passed away. She will be received into John Ogilvie Church on June 30th at 6pm, with her funeral mass scheduled for July 1st at 10am, followed by cremation. The family invites friends to Blantyre Miners Welfare afterward.
Joyce Davies, a cherished member of the Burnside community, recently celebrated her 100th birthday. Known for her active participation in local organizations, including founding the Autumn Club, she has contributed significantly to the community. Joyce, originally from Nottinghamshire, married Jim in 1946 and has two daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
