WH Smith has agreed to sell its 480 retail stores to Modella Capital for £76 million, leading to the brand’s exit from the high street after 233 years. The stores will be rebranded as TGJones, while WH Smith will maintain its brand for travel outlets and continue to employ 5,000 staff.
