As you’ll know by now, the purpose of Blantyre Telegraph is to bring you local news about Blantyre, whilst at the same time raising money for good causes. We’re pleased to say, that thanks to Sales of the Telegraph Newspaper, £200 in cash was yesterday donated to the Haven Centre, in Victoria Street.
The Haven offers a programme of support designed to help individuals cope with the physical, emotional and practical aspects of their illness and to enable them to face the future with hope. Staff member, Connie Postlethwaite graciously accepted the donation commenting, “Thanks to Blantyre Telegraph readers for buying the newspaper and remembering the Haven.” We assured Connie that although the Telegraph is also supporting several other local, good causes, we will of course continue to fully support the Haven in every way we can.
Do you know of a deserving person or local good cause in Blantyre? We hope to bring you frequent articles of this nature, showing just how the funds being raised for Newspaper sales, are being wisely given to such causes. We’d like to take this opportunity to say thanks to everybody who has bought the paper so far. The next edition is on sale at various Blantyre outlets and online on 15th July 2015.
