Emma Grace Conway, 25 of Blantyre has landed a leading role in a professional touring production of Noel Coward’s “Blithe Spirit”.
Emma attended St Blanes Primary in Blantyre and John Ogilvie High School. She was always part of the school shows and it was Head Teacher, Mr Morrison who encouraged Emma to follow her passion into acting and performance.
Emma met Filipa Fallow ,who runs Shoogalie Road Productions in 2015 when she auditioned and was cast as Dorothy in a touring production of “The Wizard of Oz” from that Emma was then cast as Ruth Condomine in “Blithe Spirit”.
Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit is a comedy- based drama on socialite and novelist Charles Condomines quest to find new material for his next novel. Charles invites the eccentric medium, Madame Aracti to his house to conduct a séance. The plan soon backfires when the ghost of his glamorous first wife arrives, Elvira. Elvira wreaks havoc with her continual attempts to disrupt Charles’s marriage with new wife, Ruth, who cannot see or hear the ghost.
The play will tour Scotland in May, and Emma would love if the people of Blantyre would support her and come along to the Glasgow shows. We wish here the very best of luck and hope we all get behind this talented young lady.
