We’ve once again counted the money in local collection tins and added up the sales revenue of the Blantyre Telegraph newspaper for May sales. All money going entirely to good causes.
May 2016 sales of Blantyre Telegraph amounted to £155.47 (a rather disappointing month for Blantyre Telegraph, but appreciated still the same), which added to totals previously, means the grand total raised to date is £5,637.19. How amazing it is to see that total going up every month!!
The money has been paid out to 50 different local good causes in Blantyre since June 2015, which is transparent here https://theblantyretelegraph.wordpress.com/raised/

The newspaper can be bought from all the above organisations for just £1, with the next edition out now. Did you know, we keep some news back from this page, so the content on the newspaper is fresh and new. However, the offline newspaper and this webpage is in danger of ending if sales continue to fall month on month. It’s the only reason we’re here to raise decent amounts of money each month for charity. The newspaper, packed full of news about Blantyre, in full colour is an absolute bargain at £1, with all proceeds entirely to Blantyre Good causes. We need your help to maintain and improve sales.
We have the ability here to raise SO much more, but need your help as we’re hoping to raise awareness of the newspaper and would welcome anybody’s ideas about that. (e.g paper-rounds, other busier outlets etc) We’d really like to know how we can get this paper out to more people and really need people to buy the paper each month. We’ll be announcing separately in due course how the money raised in May will be put to good, charitable causes within Blantyre.
During the next few weeks, we’ll be looking at creating and hosting certain EVENTS in order to raise larger sums of money for local Blantyre good causes. If you have an idea about that, please get in touch.
