Police Scotland are appealing for information after a woman was robbed in a supermarket car park in Blantyre yesterday (Thursday, May 25).
At around 11.35pm, a 48-year-old woman was packing her shopping into her car at the Asda in Clydeview Shopping Centre, Glasgow Road, when she was approached by a man who was unknown to her.
The man then proceeded to rob her of her phone and purse before making his way out of the carpark.
Thankfully, the woman was not injured during the incident but she was left badly shaken by the terrifying ordeal.
The man is described as being aged between 25 and 30, 5ft 5in to 5ft 10in, of medium build, with short dark hair, a small scar on his left cheek, and a possible tattoo on the right side of his neck.
He was wearing a white t-shirt with dark piping around the collar and sleeves, a light blue Chelsea FC zipper with white piping down the sleeves, dark jogging bottoms and white trainers.
Detective Constable Euan Wallace from Cambuslang CID said: “Thankfully the victim was uninjured during this incident but it was still a terrifying ordeal for her and it is important that we trace the person responsible as soon as possible.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed what happened, or who may have seen a man matching the above description acting suspiciously, to please come forward.
