Charity Football Match

Screen Shot 2018-02-23 at 00.03.41Found another good story to tell tonight! Remember John Paul Doyle, one of the nominees at last years Blantyre Oscars? Well this popular young man from Blantyre has been raising money AGAIN, all in the name of charity.

John Paul’s latest fundraiser is a fantastic 11 a-side charity football match at Airdrie stadium on Saturday, 16th June 2018. The match starts at 5pm and will be followed by a blind auction and charity racenight until late!

The charity he’s so kindly supporting is “Maggie’s Cancer Centres”, an amazing drop in centre who offer support and advice for people with cancer or for someone who knows someone with cancer. What a wonderful charity it is too! They have therapists and advisors to people through cancer (and after experiencing cancer.)

Raffle Prizes Sought

The match will see John Paul’s friends and family take on my ‘Glasgow Reds Supporters club’ that he is a member off. John Paul added, “I’m running and organising this event and I have a close friend Yusaf Ghulam assisting me. I’m looking for people and businesses to donate to the raffle and auction any price will be deeply appreciated!”

John Paul’s parents have kindly paid the forfeited cost of the stadium hire, as a donation.

We wish you all the best John Paul. It’s a remarkable thing you’re doing. You’re one in a million, sir.
