Tributes have been pouring in for Calderside Academy pupil, Darian Rouse, who sadly passed away on Monday evening.

Darian (16), who now has been named locally was taken to Hairmyres Hospital on Sunday night, after becoming unwell, but sadly passed away the following evening on 10th December 2018.
News of the Hamilton teenager’s passing has left the community shocked and deeply saddened.
Skayne Dodds, head teacher at Calderside Academy, described Darian as “a diligent, hard-working, respectful pupil,” whose passing will have “a profound effect” on all at the school. He added, “The whole Calderside school community is saddened by the tragic passing of Darian Rouse.
She was a lovely, kind, thoughtful and sensitive person who was held in the highest regard by her teachers and fellow pupils. A diligent, hard-working, respectful pupil, Darian engaged fully with the corporate life of the school and availed herself of many opportunities to contribute in an extremely positive manner to the school ethos.
“Darian’s passing has had a profound effect on the school community and has created a great sense of loss.She will always have a place in the heart of the staff and pupils who knew her and she will be sorely missed.”
A Police spokesperson told us, “Her death is not being treated as suspicious, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Teri Newlands commented, “Can’t quite explain how shattered and hurt my heart is, it’s in thousands of pieces. I will forever cherish the amazing memories we have made since primary.”
Hollie Maxwell added, “I don’t know what life is going to be like without her. Love you Darian, heaven has got a new angel so fly high, because no matter how far you go you will always be in our hearts “
