Today is the Shortest Day

Today, Friday 21st December 2018, is the shortest day of the year.

It’s Winter Solstice, meaning from tonight, the nights start getting lighter, earlier again! (and of course mornings get lighter earlier too)

A full Moon and a meteor shower will accompany this year’s winter solstice.

The Moon, known as the Cold Moon, will be seen with clear skies a day after the winter solstice. The annual Ursid meteor shower is also expected to peak on Dec. 21 and Dec. 22.
