May I take this opportunity to wish you all a ‘Merry Christmas, Peace and Happiness” for the festive season.
I’ll be taking things easier here over the coming days to spend quality time with family and friends, so replies will take a little longer than normal.
I hope you’ve enjoyed Blantyre Telegraph’s stories and efforts throughout 2018 and I thank all 14,000 of subscribers here for your continued, appreciated daily support.
It IS a lot of effort to run this page, fitting in and scheduling stories before and after work (and in any breaks in between!). However, there’s a great network of individuals and organisations behind the scenes, who are quick to share events as they happen, which I sincerely appreciate.
I hope you agree that this page remains friendly and informative, often breaking local stories before even neighbouring real media sources do! You’ll have noticed efforts this year changing the look and feel of the page to be as fun and professional as it can be, which runs alongside the brand new website at http://www.theblantyretelegraph.com New logos and branding have given the site a fresh, contemporary identity.
Of course, the main reason the page exists is to raise money for local good causes and I’m pleased to announce that by 31st December , the page will have broken the £20,000 fundraising total since 2015! Amazing! It’s the main reason I devote time to the page but of course it couldn’t have been done without YOUR kindness and help. SO thank you very much! This has ALL, every penny gone back into the Blantyre Community and can transparently be seen on the website clicking on the “Fundraising” tab.
Thanks everybody for making the page SO engaging, well known and liked. I wish you all, a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. [Paul Veverka]
