What a mess! The stream running out of Stonefield Public Park, just beyond the train station is packed full of illegally dumped rubber tyres.
We’ve reported this before but the council have still to take some clean up action. No idea how so many tyres could get into this area without the public spotting the lowlife who did it. The fly tipping destroys a nice area to walk in and is grossly unsightly to see them lying in the stream.
This page will out anybody who fly tips. We HATE illegal tipping, especially when so many worthwhile volunteer environmental groups exist in Blantyre to keep the place tidy. In this case though, the council need a reminder. It shouldn’t be for volunteers to give up their time to tidy tyres!
