Like many people in Blantyre today, we are deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the sad passing of popular local man, Alan McVey.
Alan passed away after becoming ill suddenly, whilst away on summer holidays in Mexico.
He certainly lived life to the full and managed to take in many fantastic places all over the world. His likeable, kind nature saw him make many friends in and outwith Blantyre. He had a great sense of humour and people were naturally drawn to him. He also won many accolades at work, a real rising star. Others will know Alan for his passionate hobby in keeping fit and helping others to get fitter too. A family man at heart, the tragic news has left the community in Blantyre stunned.
Our deepest and sincere sympathies go out to all his family at this sad time.
Rest in Peace Alan. You were one of a kind!
