Ride for Reform

Bikers are invited to come along to an organised memorial event on Sunday 18th August 2019 to remember Allan Nicholson, who sadly died on the EK Expressway last year.

The group hope people will come along to take part in completing the trip Allan was making, but never got to finish. There will also be a petition to reform the law, primarily to insist those who are suspected of having caused a death on the roads are remanded in custody to prevent this happening again.

Mr Nicholson died after his motorbike collided with a car on the East Kilbride Expressway. He was thrown from his bike and pronounced dead at the scene at November 10.

William McLean, of Glasgow, has been charged with death by dangerous driving as well as getting behind the wheel while being under the influnce.

Blantyre Telegraph campaigned extensively in early 2019 for improvements to be made to Blantyre sliproads to help avoid tragedies like this happening again.

The bikers leave from B&M Carpark at 12.30.
