It is with sadness we have learned that Abdul Sattar, who started out as a Blantyre grocer has sadly passed away.
Abdul who lived in Bothwell slipped away last week, aged 72. His funeral was held in Glasgow Central Mosque last Friday.
His successful career took him into the restaurant business and saw him own Cafe India, one of the most famous eating places in Glasgow from 1986, often feeding top celebs. He also owned two other Glasgow restaurants – Crème de la Crème and City Merchant – before adding Redstones Hotel in Uddingston, Lanarkshire.
Abdul will also be fondly remembered for his charitable work. We’re thinking of his family at this sad time.
