Recent public consultation on the use of Public Phone Boxes in Lanarkshire has throw up some interesting results, including identifying which boxes the public would like to save.
Plans by BT would have seen the closure of 36 phone boxes in Lanarkshire after it was announced the use of phone boxes has decreased by 90% in the last 10 years. However, the public had their say and some have been identified for continued use.
For Blantyre, this suggested the phone box at the junction of Farm Road and Station Road may have a possible reprieve. The one at Main Street near the Cornerstone, likely to be removed.
Plans have still to be concluded. Have you say. Do you use either of these phone boxes? Is the time of the phone kiosk, now gone?
