Station Road Gas Works

SGN, who provide gas services to our area are due to commence significant upgrade works at the Village, Blantyre.

The gas company plan to upgrade their gas network along Station Road, from the end of February into March 2020. Following their discussions with South Lanarkshire Council the project now has an official start on site on 29 February and will last approximately two weeks.

Some unavoidable disruption on Station Road is highly likely.

Phase One – approximately 1 week

On Saturday 29 February, they will start work at Station Road from outside number 85 to outside number 101.

During this phase, they’ll install temporary two-way traffic lights in Station Road just after its junction with Rosebank Avenue to maintain traffic flow.

Phase Two – approximately 1 week

From Saturday 7 March, SGN will continue working in StationRoad from outside number 101 to the junction with Viewfield Road.

During this phase, they’ll install temporary three-way traffic lights at the junction with Station Road and Glasgow Road.
