Leisure and cultural premises are to close in South Lanarkshire in response to the coronavirus situation.
The move follows the most recent advice from the Scottish and UK governments, which recommends people avoid non-essential social contact. Public-facing leisure and culture premises and services will be closed from tomorrow, Wednesday 18 March 2020.
The closure includes:
• all leisure and sports facilities
• all culture facilities including libraries and art galleries
• town halls and Low Parks Museum
Membership fees will be frozen automatically throughout the closure, so service users do not need to take action on this. Anyone who has paid for classes or other services that cannot be delivered will be contacted to arrange a refund.
Day Care services provided at the leisure centres will continue on Wednesday 18 March and Thursday 19 March while alternative arrangements can be made for future provision. Registration Services will continue to be provided.
