Blantyre Miners Welfare on Calder Street is amongst the latest local business to temporarily close due to the current global health pandemic. It will close its doors from tonight.
Michael McCann told Blantyre Telegraph: “It is with regret that we have come to the decision to temporarily close Blantyre Miners Welfare from midnight tonight (Tuesday) for the time being. It is paramount that we keep our members and indeed all clientele safe from the spread of coronavirus.”
A lot of our members are in the vulnerable age group and therefore we had to come to this decision on the back of UK Government advice on Monday”
The Board will review their decision every fortnight.
