South Lanarkshire Council’s Community Engagement Team have asked for the following communication to be put out from Cllr Maureen Chalmers.
Dear community and voluntary organisations
We know that you will be fully aware of the current situation with regards to the coronavirus COVID-19, and that many of you are already actively planning for ways to support your communities. South Lanarkshire Community Planning Partnership would like to identify the work which is taking place regarding this, and the challenges you are facing in doing this.
As a partnership we are working hard to put plans in place to help manage the situation as it develops, following official advice and guidance. We know the value of the links within communities and the potential to encourage kindness and care, while making sure we take responsibility for our own safety and the safety of others from the spread of infection. This can help to support our planning.
We would like to hear from you by email to firstname.lastname@example.org to help us build a picture of the full range of support being given in our communities. If possible an early response by Friday 20th March would help us to pull things together to do this.
We are particularly interested in hearing about what you are doing locally to adapt services to meet the changing needs of your communities, or to develop new links and networks to do this. We would also like to know about any challenges you are facing and if there are any ways which the Community Planning Partnership could help you address these.
As the situation is changing regularly, we would encourage you to keep up to date with the latest government advice which can be found on the South Lanarkshire Council website.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Councillor Maureen Chalmers
Chair, South Lanarkshire Community Planning Partnership
