Jet 2 to resume flying in July

Jet2 has announced it will resume all flights and holidays from 1st July 2020 after it halted operations due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The airline and package holiday company had previously announced they would aim to restart on June 17, but this has slipped and the travel company has confirmed in a statement their date to resume will now be 2 weeks later. Staff are currently contacting customers about bookings.

A Jet2 spokesperson said: “In view of the ongoing travel restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we have taken the decision to recommence our flights and holidays programme on July 1st.”

The airline industry has been particularly hit during the crisis, with several airlines including British Airways making redundancies.

More information on Jet2’s plans can be found on their website. Clarification is being sought for what this will mean for passengers returning to the UK, given the imminent quarantine rules for incoming passengers about to be imposed.
