Teachers and Schools are getting ready to make further extensive changes at local schools to keep children and families safe and well.
Schools are taking guidance and advice from South Lanarkshire Council and making their plans for pupils returning in August. These plans will be communicated in detail in the coming weeks.
We’ve learned that uniform changes may be implemented at schools. For example parents are High Blantyre Primary are being asked NOT to buy shirts or school ties for next year. If possible, children are being asked to wear polo shirts, trousers/skirt and comfy shoes. Parents are being asked NOT to buy gym shoes and kids won’t be changing shoes in school. Other changes are afoot. For example packed lunch boxes , pencil cases, pencils and the like wont be needed to be bought as plans for safety and mitigating infection risk is planned out.
Scottish Schools are expected to go back on 11th August, which at first may be a blended mix of being at school and learning from home.
We’d love to hear from teachers in other schools what other plans are being implemented to keep all local children safe. We’ll be posting official guidelines for schools once plans are finalised.
