It’s September, which means the UK Furlough Scheme is winding down further from today.
Until now the Government has paid 80% of the salary of anyone who has been furloughed during the pandemic. But from today companies will have to start paying at least 10% of the salaries of furloughed staff – bringing the total the government will pay to 70% of a furloughed person’s salary.
Further changes are expected in a months time. From October, the government will pay 60% of wages up to a cap of £1,875 for the hours the employee is on furlough.
